Spring Maps Torrent Posted.

Post by DarkFireBird »

I have made a torrent for the most played maps on Spring. Seeing as UnknownFiles goes down sometimes this should help with getting some of the more played maps.
The torrent size is only 220MB as I have tried my best to keep it small so you are not trying to download Gigs of maps, plus it would be hell for me trying to seed them all.
The map list is.
-Altored_Divide
-Castles
-charleinthehillsv21
-Comet_Catcher_Redux
-DeltaSiegeDry
-EERiverGladev02
-Green_Fields
-Sands_of_War_v2
-Small_Supreme_Battlefield
-Small_Supreme_Battlefield_V2
-Speed_Balls_16_Way
-Trenches

The torrent can be gotten here= http://www.torrentbox.com/torrent_detai ... 1#filelist

If it does not let you download the torrent it is because I have just posted it and take about an hour or so to get it. Please be patient, plus please help with the seeding. I will leave it running for as long as needed. Also if for some reason it is not working post here and I will fix it. :) Happy hunting everyone.

So you know, its listing your torrent box id as no seeds. The pirate Bay seed is working, though. I have had this same conflict before. What client are you using to seed? Your also uploading at 2.6 kb/s, with t.o.a. estimated at 22 hours.

Trenches is one of the most played spring maps? O,o

1. its 93 megs, you could have put several maps in its place. 2. I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually play a game on that map.

Don't get me wrong, picasso is a great artist.. But you could fit a ton of 1v1/tournament maps in those 93megs.

Umm.. It's a torrent. You don't have to limit it to a certain size or number of files. Why not just seed all the maps you have, CreatorOfThisTorrent? No one has to download the whole thing. Everyone can just join the swarm, seed whatever they have, and download map X when they need it. And where's Tabula? :(

Of course you don't *have* to download all the files in a torrent. But if a newbie sees a torrent that contains 'the most played spring maps,' they will probably download the whole thing. And I don't see how including a map that is almost half of the size of the whole torrent and rarely gets played is beneficial.

Ok I guess I am not accounting for newbies trying to download it all at once. But as a temporary solution for when UF is down, someone who has a large number of maps could certainly seed them all with explicit instructions that it's not a good idea to download them all, only the ones you need. And that others should seed.
