The most fun I have ever had playing Spring- HDWF

Post by kiki »

Yesterday, I had the most fun playing the spring I have ever had. I invented a style of game that I would like to call HDWF- High Density WarFare. I may even make my own clan for the joy of this game. What happened was I hosted a standard BA 5v5 dsd game, which my team totally pwned in because I built a buzzy. Then, when the game was won, and I unlocked it, it was flooded with 20+ people. When I switched to the map Small Divide, no one left. Everyone was like "Why not, lets see what happens". So we start a game on small divide 8v8 with about 8 specs. The first game was just funny because everyone was playing like it was a 2v2 match on comet catcher, spamming llts and trying to make units, until eventually one side was overwhelmed. That game lasted for about 5 minutes. Then, we did the same thing again. This time, my team developed a strategy. 4-5 people started in the front, for super fast unit spams. The rest started in the sides and back making kbots, and I started out making a windfarm and an air factory. While the middle was pwning with flash tanks, the dudes on the sides were porcing and crossing the hills, while I comnapped with atlases and bombed. Then I airdropped my com, and used my windfarm to provide the necessary E to dgun everyone's base and fly around. Eventually, I made a small base on the enemy side with another guy's help (airdropped com), and by attacking from the back we won pretty fast. This whole time, I wasnt really paying attention to the middle but they teched in 3 mins and made bulldogs. All of this epicness occured in about 10 mins, and it was amazing. We had about 2 more battles, and each one was better than the last. People started making anti-air, and teching up really fast. I suggest you all try this out. It was a stupid idea that turned out to be very fun.

Heheh, I think you need to look up a map called "TinyME" - it was awesome back in the AA days using hovercomms.

I think this is somehow a recurring theme. At some point there was some funny metal maps which were played by a lots of players. This seems to have similiarities with that.

It is fun, but after a while I tend to revert to the 'normal' game play.

I'd recommend a game called World in Conflict.

Playing in a small map with a large amount of players can be fun, and its also very noob friendly since there are a lot of people to cover up your stupdiness :)

Me and a few other guys did an 8-way on Small Divide a yaer or two ago. And I personally started tons of insanely packed SD games in my heyday. Tis fun.

Its called Duck.

And it seems its back in fashion!

The problem with huge numbers of players on a small map is simple. Commanders. There are too many commanders and that makes lots of combombing, and means the game is more about how you use your commander and less about how you use your other units.

I remember my first game of duck. I d-gunned the guy next to me and everyone on the map chain-exploded (I didnt 'get' it).

And if you resorted to a buzzsaw that means you lost. :P
