I chucked my collection of my favourite defensive weapons in to my spring directory and the units themselves work fine.
The problem is the build pics, some of them have corrupted build pics, which spring picks up, pauses the game, gives me an error message that it doesn't understand the pcx format and has 'ok' at the bottom.
click ok, the game carries on and you get a grey buildpic (like in TA). Btu if spring has the error handling to deal with it, and since I only get to click 'ok' anyway, what's the message for?

on another note, the ground deformability number, what do you have to set it to to get non-deformable ground? or can you currently just set it to REALLY REALLY HARD? could a setting of -1 be set to be interpreted as no deformation?

Spring doesn't use the BuildPics in /anims/*.gaf like TA, but instead the /unitpics/*.pcx. In TA the /unitpics/*.pcx only show up when your press F1 on a unit, so many unit makers didn't bother making them. Or failed to make them with 256 colors in TA palette.
