Running Spring on Asus EEE?

Post by Stigern »

So, this might be a useless post. But I'm just wondering if anyone know how spring might perform on a asus eee?

It would probably run things like starcraft, total annihilation and quake though.

Isn't that the $100 laptop that turned into a $300 laptop, with an optional $400 version if you want it to come with a motherboard?

Nah, this is the $300 laptop that's always been a $300 laptop. You're thinking of the One Laptop Per Child program.

According to the wiki it's clocked down to 630 Mhz... and it's a celeron.
2 h 45 min battery life
This is pathetic as well... school PC indeed.

That is pretty bad for a 610 and/or 900 mhz processor laptop...

You know, I'd buy a laptop that slow in an instant if it had like 12 hour battery life or something. (and it should)

Spring would probably run... just really horribly. This game is fairly taxing on a processor due to physics calculations. Also... I can't seem to figure out what the graphics processor is... not that spring needs too powerful a GPU, but it does do some graphics stuff even on lowest settings. Just don't play any mods made by caydr.

It's like a toned down geforce 2 with primitive shader support.

Well I played spring on an intel 845 for a long time...I got a max of 15 fps. Usually around 8. A 910 would probably be slightly lower.

I wonder... if you modify the text displayed, use no LUA and run at 640x480, you might squeeze 20 FPS out in small games, but I expect you'll suffer from some cursor lag during explosions.

Doesn't spring make use of hardware cursors?
