GUI disappearing

since i updated my ati drivers to the 7.12 catalyst drivers

my GUI disappears alot during game then comes bak wen it feels like and shifts to metal map for no reason to :S

(text disappears so does buildlist and unit info lups also)

i have a ati radeon 1650 xt

and run windows xp

any reason why the new drivers could be having problems ?

Already tried "/luaui reload" when this happens?

I have the same problem. This seems to be linked to Vista or to the Radeon X1650 card, as I have the same card on my Vista PC and the same happens. On my XP PC with a Radeon 9600 (yes, the old ones), Spring just works fine.

For some reason, the latest drivers improved the problem somewhat. I'm going to try buy a new NVIDIA card someday, and see if that solves the problem.

3d0 models seem to disappear but s30 models stay :S

This is not an Ati issue. I've an nvidia card and have had the ui dissappear often. /luaui reload fixes this. Unfortunately it's inconsistent with the disappearances, sometimes everything goes and sometimes all the other ui elements except construction lists for units that can build (constructors and factories) and possiby other ways too that I can't just now remember. I'd guess this is an engine/lua issue and not something related to what video card one has.
And on an off note: Blaming everything being the fault of Ati before investigating is like microsoft saying all those blue screens of death happen only on non-intel cpu/chipsets...
