.... First off what offense did he commit, and why was he put on a sex offender's register for that? Sure its a very odd thing to do, but isn't that list meant for rapists and pedophiles? This could affect his prospects for life. Also he was doing it in a private locked room, why is he being sentenced when it was neither either public nor harmful to the public?

He was in a private place though, afterall someone unlocking your front door who has a master key that can open any door on your street shouldn't make your home a public place, rather it should make that person an intruder.

So he should have been able to f*ck his bike, even if its really wierd...

You get put on the sex offender list for pissing in a public place. Of course people THINK that the list is only for severe criminals so there's no resistance to further restrictions for anyone on the list and AFAIK everyone on there is treated equally.

Which is really fucked up if you consider that someone who got drunk and dropped his pants in public has his location pinpointed by authorities at all times while a violent gang member gets ignored after he's out of jail.

didnt you read the article? the guy had LOCKED himself inside HIS ROOM, when the cleaners let themselves in with the master key. What more is he supposed to do? nail the door shut?

sure, its a hell of a weird thing to do, but its not like he was hurting anyone else.
