What are some good, easy to learn textureing programs that are compatible whith wings?

You mean a uvmapping program?
Or texture creation? Because you can create textures in anything (the simbase textures are edited in paint) As far as things that are actually good, gimp is your power option, and, umm, yeah I'll let others list more.

I was thinking of the anamating/textureing/3dpainting, what ever you need to make a unit have color and or movment

Can you UV map with wings yet? If not, you need to make sure you can. I made a tutorial (that kinda sucks) that may be of some help. It is here.

I use MS Paint for my textures. Don't do that. Gimp, Paint.net or Photoshop.
