Best of Anime series part 1: SOUNDTRACK

Since we have so many anime fans here, could both of you post what anime(s) have the best soundtracks?

IMO Death Note has some of the best music not just of anime but all TV. Sets the mood great. I think I miss the music more than the anime, which is really saying something. When you heard that music you felt like the fate of the world really hung in the balance.

For you who haven't heard it I'll post a zip here in a few minutes of some of the highlights.

FLCL was pretty banging. Cowboy Bebop and Wolf's Rain also earn merits for soundtrack work.

I like the ghost in a shell theme... Admittedly, unless I'm listening to the track on it's own I barely notice the soundtrack of a show I'm watching except in the case when the track is so bad it ruins the show. This has happened in Naruto several times

I really like how cowboy bebop used a different style for each episode, it was a good touch.

I heard about CB using a different style inspired by the title of the song the episode was named after.... never really noticed any difference in the episode myself though really.

Here's the Death Note music compilation I just made. It's basically just all the most memorable tracks edited down into one file, with only bits and pieces. I don't wanna get sued, and if I made it much bigger it'd be too big a file to reasonably distribute.

FLCL OST is running on my ipod atm, and the OP and ED of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are pretty addictive

EDIT: Cowboy Bebop had a great OST, as did Death Note

Can't think of a good one, I hate Jpop and most in-scene background music is rather generic.

I watched 2 episodes and couldn't tolerate going any further. Alot of people really like it though.

It's bizarre to the point of stupidity. It just doesn't really have anything consistent with my sense of reality that allows me to latch onto the events that are occurring...

Easier to find catchy songs than catchy soundtracks. Have the following soundtracks onhand atm:

Escaflowne
Kaleido Star
KareKano
Gunbuster 2
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (find the full ending dance on Youtube)
Paradise Kiss (anime not recommended)

Also, Caydr's Avatar is featured in the AMV Rainbow (also found on Youtube).
