Alright, here's my golden opportunity to bitch. I've wanted to say something about this for the longest time, but always been too lazy. But here it is.
WHAT THE **** KIND OF DUMBASS REVIEWER ACTUALLY TAKES THE QUALITY OF THE PACK-IN EARPHONES INTO THE EQUATION WHEN THEY'RE SCORING AN MP3 PLAYER??? WHAT GIVES? PACK-INS ARE INTENDED TO SUCK, THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE DESIGNED FOR.
The answer?! EVERYONE. Especially CNET since that's the only place I've looked.
For crap sake, what kind of dumbassclown is going to actually use the pack-in earphones that come with something? They probably have herpes. One thing I don't need is ear herpes. I don't want ear herpes, and I don't want tinny sound.
If you guys want a pair of proper earphones, search your local e-tailer for "Creative Noise Cancelling Earphones". They're great, really... You can hear the sound when they move against something, like... I mean when the cord moves around... you know what I mean? But that doesn't really happen much.

The earbuds that come with the zen are quite tolerable. They might not cut it for a hardcore audiophile, but I doubt the ipod earbuds would fair much better to that crowd.
