USA specifically. People in europe tend to be split into absolutely clueless or they know enough for say 60 ro 70 countries including the main ones.

Having said that, polls say most japanese dont know where china or korea are. And most Americans confuse iran and north korea with cuba.

I can't tell if you're trying to be deceptive or if you're just stupid...

Thats why I picked somewhere else..

Brazil is in south america..

Technically, America, is USA, because you didn't specify whether its north or south.

Yes, Snipa is correct. North America and South America are not contained within "America". America in English refers to the USA, it doesn't have a wider contextual meaning.

To describe the new world, you could say "The Americas".

I can find it on a map. That's good enough for me.

America is a context-dependent word... it refers to the entire American landmass (from Alaska to Argentina), and it also refers to the United States of America. The latter is, of course, much more common than the former. And, of course, it is perfectly correct to say that Brazil is in America.

I agree with Felix on that. A word has more than one meaning.

Also a first post mentioning "EUA", whatever that is, probably isn't all that strict with plurals anyway.
