new map -- called Chas-One ..

Post by genblood »

I made a new map last week and just uploaded it to
unknown-files.net. It's different from from other
maps I've done. So, here are some screen shots and
a link to download it ...

I do have a update planned for this map ... the custom features need to
be converted to s3o format and a redo of the texture ...

Well, it looks interesting enough, but looks like it might play like a speedmetal turned 90 degrees. I don't like single bridge maps much, though, so it's just my biased opinion.

Looks almost like purple marble :P

The land bridge connecting both sides are very wide. Also
you can travel on the outside of the wall. The metal output
is very different per mex patch. The metal output values
per mex :

Metal output for whole map:

8 splats 4.1
4 splats 2.8
6 splats 2.2
8 splats 1.6
4 splats 0.8

It's a total of 30 metal spots, 10 Geos and 8 custom features
that can be reclaimed for metal and energy.

I planning on adding 2 cramps per side going into the water
area. Also, got to redo the custom features too.

Download it and try it out ...

I like the sphere-like features, who made those?
is the reflection on them is real or just built into the model?

Genblood made them. It's done with spring's reflective maps.

genblood how do you sleep at night

I get 5 to 6 hours sleep at night ...

It must be the coffee I drink

After 6 coffee from Starbucks ... I'm wired ...

Come on ... the map isn't that bad ... I should know I've
made some real wins ...

The map isn't pretty, it designed for game play ... Take
the time and download it and try it out ...

nice work on the features genblood, i didn't know you made any.

As far as the map goes - I'm sure it's not bad it just seems like a total porc-fest to me.
There's absolutely no reason to leave your base in this map.

Imo put mex/geos on the bridge in the middle, could give people more of an incentive to push fowards.

Map looks nice, the features are cool

Alternately, elevate the bridge so players have the height-advantage-incentive. Nothing quit like getting pummelled by lugers to make you rethink your porcing strategy.
