Island map - COMPLETED valled The-Islands ...

Post by genblood »

I'm working a a large island map. The map size is 28x28
There are a few small islands too. I still have things to fix
and tweak before I'm done with it.

UPDATE: 7-18-07

It's done ... you can download it from this link

That's a great looking map, the mountains from the zoomed out view look very good. The shore seem a little bit featureless. Can we see the current metal distribution?

i'd like to see a second island in the south, currently that side has less than a half of north's.

Here is a screen shoot of the metal layout ...

The metal is all over the place. The metal out is 2.0 -2.4 depending
on the area.

That additional island is an improvement. I'm slightly worried that the northern island will have a substantial advantage in terms of econ development with that landlocked sea area. What are you planning on making the tidal generation?

So, you would like to see the over all map in the middle?
Where ships can basically circle most of the islands..
Is that what you mean ...

The tidal generators are set at 19 ..

Will correct the fog issue. I re-centered the map. So, you
can circle the islands now ...

Here is a screen shot of it now...

Things I need to finish now ...

* redo metal map
* add grass and trees
* player locations need updating
* a few fixes here and there

I should have it done in a few days ...

The degree to which artillery/static plasma can reach the islands is something you may want to think about

The map size is 28x28. So, it should be a lot of room.
The screen shot is zoomed out ...

try setting fog at like .5 That way you still get your fog and it doesn't really obscure the view.

Just once in your life, could you try not being a cock?

Keep up the good work genblood, it's looking really nice.

And no I'm not really "back", I'm doing some spring stuff (more off than on) because of l3dt stuff in the works. I'm also in the process of getting married and moving. I have very little time to spend on my computer and to be honest. I like it that way.

But I have a bad habit of checking the boards when I'm bored at work (so generally once a week or so), so just consider me a lurker at this point :P
