Creating a unit?

Post by luxmeister »

okay, i wanna make units for spring but i can't find a guide on making the scripts for units. theres a unit making guide but after it explains all the modeling and texturing stuff it says nothing about the script other than that u need it. i can make a basic model, texture it and get it into upspring but i wanna know how to animate it and set all the things like health and damage.
i can model and texture but i want to be able to get a working unit into spring to mess around with.

Also be careful, those work but they teach you horrible practices that you should avoid (especially that activatescr.h crap).

Someone really needs to draft a spring version... That's one of the things we really fail at here, teaching people how to script who aren't OTA regs.

Using the TA Design Guide as a reference manual, and looking at exemple to get started, worked well enough for me.

Which doesn't mean good tutorial shouldn't be made of course.
