Com blast should be removed

I really think the comblast should be removed. It makes the commander a too powerfull weapon to give to a starting player.

Making a mutator taking out the comm blast takes like five minutes. If you ask nicely I'll make you one. It might actually be a good idea on 6vs6 altored games where people of all different skill levels play together.

Of course, taking out the blast means you can dgun other commanders without losing your own. So I guess you'd have to remove the D-Gun too. Of course then, you can easily be rushed early game, so you'd have to compensate by making t1 defenses cheaper. That leads to more emphasis on artillery, so rebalancing is required...

For what game on the engine are you making this request?
Why do you think this should be changed?
How is the commander too powerful for a new player?

you forgot the full problem with commblast, manored:

of course its a problem. the comm's explosion is way too huge.

so we reduce it a lot - that way its not as powerful a weapon

but then of course like boirunner said, you have to remove dgun, otherwise it will be too easy for other player to wlak over and dgun your comm anbd have no consequence

then you will have to disable dgun - but then everyone rushes

then you have to add special lua script to disable any sort of rushing

but then its too easy to get around lua, so you go play starcraft

I think the solution here is to say "fuck it" and leave the comm alone. End of discussion.

I was a bit time-less then I made the post :)

The reason is basically there tough: Its too powerfull of a weapon to give to a player at start, then people cant make much aa (even if they do tech 1 aa doesnt haves the range to stop the combomb in time), so if you combomb you increase your chances of winning dramatically, and I find that boring. If we remove the dgun we could increase the coms laser power, so it haves a regular weapon instead of one that owns and one that sucks... :)

So I think the TA mods would be funnier if we removed the comblast and the dgun and power up the coms laser.

no com explosion = no reason for other com to stay away = whoever got the largest force fights with the commander and wins the game.

You'll get rushed and killed by a single flash and a enemy commander if you do that.

Not really. You just have to be cautious with your commander. You will always have the advantage in your home base early in the game.

Besides, this is mod dependent, go complain to the BA team or something. I'm sure they would just love to listen.
