Mmmkay i seem to have exhausted my current mp3 collection's replay value, and played Biffy Clyro's "puzzle" to death.... nead moar muzik.

Anybody got any ideas of (largely guitar-centric) music i should go out and buy (because i obviously wouldn't indulge in that evil terrorism-funding "downloading" i hear so much about)

Try one of my favourite artists, Hayden Desser. Elk-Lake Serenade and Skyscraper National Park are both fantastic albums.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayden_(musician)

Just listen to Dynamite Walls and you will fall in love:

If you are up for something a bit heavier try System of a Down.

I also just downloaded off Emusic the newest album from "The National" called "Boxer" that is really good IMO.

A few of my faves would be:

Explosions in the Sky
Biffy Clyro
My Vitriol
Kula Shaker
Hendrix
Godspeed You Black Emporer
A Silver Mt. Zion
Life Without Buildings
Mogwai
One Minute Silence

but they are all very much guitar bands, and i do listen to a lot of other stuff, I'm more interested in people's own taste in music as opposed to pandora-esque "you like x so you will probably like y", but i 'spose if i was to summarise: cool riffs and excessive fx = winrar

and i _have_ heard of SOAD relative :)

My advice, buy the entire ACDC back catalogue and then burn the rest of your cd collection - you won't need it anymore.
Not because it sucks, but simply because ACDC are so unbelievably amazingly good, you'll never need anything else. 8)

Try this Pintle, David Coverdale is the singer, hes amazing, and cozy powell makes playing the drums look so damn cool

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gW4LQN1Bx1Q

the song is brilliant, it speeds up halfway through and there's an absolutley cracking solo in there too, its good beer drinking music. It's just one of my fav ever tunes, hope ya like it :)

Ok, here's some more links, I was bored, :)

Black label society, loads of albums, the first 3 are amazing but after that they go downhill abit, but they're still great.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1L_D3bTN_E

Ozzy, no more tears - solo about 4 mins in is.... well just listen to it :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHNmyN6mPsM

(just ignore the twat swinging his hair around, who incedentally is the guy singing in the first video)

Skidrow, trashy 80 rock at it's best, check 2:40 for a monster fist pumping chorus thingy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wApmgJ08LSo

Extreme, more 80's rock, close ure eyes and ignore the terrible video, but listen to nuno bettencourts classy guitar skills.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykRxlPd6U4k

fav maiden tune about the battle of britain

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2CQ3YE4P_g

Slash's snakepit, top notch !!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viHh2RYj4ko

Deep purple, mistreated - sweeeeet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvC5tTTaogI

Stone the crow by down, classic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBLbrJxGtro

Finally Wishbone ash, probably the most underated band of all time, seriously, these guys are amazing and Ive never met anyone that listens to them, its a travesty

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09sWppV3D_U
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8akkjQfHQJM

That should keep you going for a while 8)
