Firstly I want to credit LathanStanley for the Cactus features I used in the map, I altered the cacti slightly, desaturating the textures a little to more closely match up with the terrain and lighting.
I created the textures for this map with Filter Forge, http://www.filterforge.com/ its a good program and makes very good seemless textures
About geos, I have never encountered that bug in mapconv that splats geos all over the place until this map so I dumped them completely.

Link to the map.

Wow! looks amazing! the cliff texture is the best I've ever seen (would you mind sharing it?) and the overall layout seems very fun to play. Gonna play this one tonight.

going to dl this filter forge you are talking about...

Rock texture as requested, and if your going to try filter forge, go here http://www.filterforge.com/filters/ and look through the sand and rock filters, I used the "wet stone" filter to render the rock texture here.

FYI, you can use filter forge "stand alone" to render textures, thats what I do, if you want more control you might want to export a filter for photoshop, but I found the stand alone option more than adequate

Thanks for sharing the texture.

It looks awesome, is it generated from scratch?
Thank you for bringing this program to my attention.

EDIT: just messed about a little with filter forge, it seems to be a very powerful tool that will come quite handy in creating textures for maps...

Yes the texture was made from scratch, you imput a source image file, in the case of that rock texture I loaded up a 512 x 512 .bmp with a solid sandy colour and applied a rock filter, the source image colour will become the base colour for the texture.

Download link is updated with a revised version, metal output is up, along with tidal, added some grass to parts of the shoreline, also looking at changing the terrain layout slightly.
edit.. I uploaded another new version with more features, link is updated.
