Better choose start position ingame

Currently its possible to pick a position in the centre fo a large blocking feature and get stuck, to place starting units that're buildings in water despite not being buildable there, commanders in the middle of verticlal cliffs, and other silly places where they get stuck or generlly dont have the space to move.

Also, start positions use markers saying start 1/2/3/ etc... They should instead say the names of the players.

Also, these markers shouldnt be deletable untill the game starts. Also they should appear for users who have just finished loading while their allies placed markers.

yes please to the player name, but I think noobs starting on tiny islands or clipped into a mountain is classic lol

here's an idea: don't use "pick start locations" use the one that puts you on the map in a numerical order.. :roll:

usually those start locations are the best balanced, the most fun, and the least "cheap"... :P

A lua start script that arranged teams into those positions based on the boxes would be good.

I dunno if im right or not but isnt it but cant you fix, the spawn point "Flag" just stays there the entire game... its kinda annoying, is there an way to gt rid of it?

There's a widget that deletes the start position markers the moment the game starts.

It's a normal marker, you can erase it the same way you'd erase normal drawings/markers. (Hold ~ ` key (left from the 1) and rightclick drag)

in C&C Generals players can click on the pre-defined startpositions on the minimap while still in the lobby. That would be cool.
