Illegal Immigrants
What are your views on this subject... Start shittin' around and fuckin' with other poeple and I will tell a mod to get rid of your posts.
I believe that we should deport each and every one we have. I think, they should all be sent back, or should just be sent to Iraq... "We'll be back in 2 years to pick you up, we'll work out your citizenship in the meantime!" I hold no pity or sadness for the cretins that call themselves citizens of America when they come here illegally.
By the way, I'm going back to the front, I mean it. Don't assault one person or another, state your views and shut the hell up.

On a more serious note, America's immigration laws suck. Back in the good ol' days, they let people in who were smart and well educated. Now they give priority to people who have family here.
Back to the original question, I have nothing against Illegal immigrants. Immigrants are what made America great. It would be good to have better border security, but most illegal immigrants, and especially the ones who better border security would dissuade, are got going to cause any problems.

I suppose I could also theoretically contribute to the thread.
My position, in brief: anyone who is not a carrier of an infectious disease and who is not a criminal should be allowed to immigrate and become a naturalized citizen.
Those who believe that all illegal immigrants must be sent back to their place of origin should go back to Europe.
Those who try to enforce rational discussion on the Internet are in violation of Rule 14 and thus falls under the purview of Rule 3. If you don't know what this means lurk moar. Alternatively you may become an hero.

I have no more right to free healthcare, education, public transport infrastructure, democratic reprasentation, trial by a jury of my peers before detention (lol maybe not mr blair....), a state pension, etc etc than anybody else on this planet, the reason i get it is the geographical location of my birth, and my parent's births. This strikes me as unfair to say the least.
If the UN, Britain, and to a lesser extent Europe continue to massively destabilise other sovereign nations, develop nuclear weapons (or any other *dubbya em dees*), and signifcantly impair the quality of life of any citizen of planet earth, imo they deserve to take the fallout.
People complaining "youtookourjobs!" south park style might consider that, globally, they are being payed quite a lot more than average.

1. I'm pretty sure they don't call themselves citizens.
2. I'm not sure what Iraq has to do with anything.
3. Many people on this forum aren't from america so probably don't care about this issue. Way to assume the world revolves around america.
4. you are probably some rich white kid who has never even met someone who has immigrated here illegally, let alone try to empathize with why they might do something like that.
I'm not saying it's ok, I'm just saying it's dumb to be against it because it's "your land." whites illegally "immigrated" into native american land a while back but no one seems upset about that now.

My view on immigration is simple.
If worker's can't cross borders, then neither should capital.
Meaning, if you feel that foreigners have no right to come into your country to take part in your economy than your economy has no right going into other peoples' countries and taking part in theirs. You can't have it both ways; either you shut the borders completely, in and out, or you open them completely.
I also think the anti-immigration "movement" is inherently prone to racist radicalism.

You wanna play? Alright.
2. If they fight for a country, then they have every right to be its citizen.
3. I was not assuming shit, you are assuming that I think that. I was half tempted to put [Americans only] in the title.
4. Rich!? HAHAHAHhahahaha, my parents won't buy me jack shit unless I bitch about it for a long time, it's my birthday or a major holiday, or unless I get off my ass and do chores that I have no reason besides money to do.
I don't think I've met an illegal immigrant, let me guess, they work long and hard to feed their families, and their life in America is better because they have decent wages and prices, instead of Mexico, where the opposite is most likely. They don't have to worry about having neighbors steal shit all the time, I could go on forever, because they get most of the same rights we do.

...because most rights guaranteed in the Constitution and in the various state constitutions are in fact enumerated as rights reserved by "persons" rather than "citizens". So, say, a Russian here on a tourist visit has the right to a trial by jury and right to decline to self-incriminate and the like that American citizens have.Snipawolf wrote:they get most of the same rights we do.
It's irrelevant anyways because, according to the original formulation of the Constitution, rights are not given to the people by the government; certain rights are taken by the government from the people, and all others are assumed to rest with the people. See also: Ninth Amendment, Tenth Amendment. Unfortunately, the government ignores this aspect of the Constitution on a daily basis.

Hi, reality called to tell you that you missed your appointment...Lindir The Green wrote:Your quality of life does not depend on how much stuff your parents buy for you.
And, since you live in America, and since you are against illegal immigration, and since you complain about having to actually work to get stuff, I can reasonably assume that you have a high quality of life.
He's only 14 years old. What 14 year old doesn't complain about working. For that matter, what 30 year old doesn't complain about working?
Some of the poorest people in the world live in the USA. America is very rich, but all that wealth lies within the hands of a minority. TV never shows 'the other people', you never read about 'the other people', but they exist, and they're far worse off than you can imagine. America has the biggest rich poor gap in the world.Lindir The Green wrote:Your quality of life does not depend on how much stuff your parents buy for you.

I think that immigration in itself is an issue not because of peoples free will to move around but because of the damage it can create. What happens when your kids cant gt jobs because people from poorer countries are undercutting them in wages? imo this isnt an issue for america, countries like the UK have a much bigger problem with this than the US, the US just makes a bigger deal out of it.
In the UK we're moving to a situation where to immigrte here you need skills. So no people with deadly diseases like tuberculosis or HIV, no unintelligent grunts looking for a higher than average pay at a fast food restuarant to send home, but people with degrees, qualifications, etc.
Besides, the US economy looks like it could do with a good few extra workers to employ, that dollar keeps on falling in value....
