It uses the same weapon as the annihilator does... Don't attack me for being right, I didn't balance the damn unit, but that doesn't change the fact that a mobile annihilator looks exactly like a penetrator anyways.Masse wrote:can u call penetrator a mobile version of annihilator ?... noot reallySwiftSpear wrote:It's called a penetrator...Dwarden wrote:ok Arm got mobile fusion ... why not mobile Annihilator ? :)
but penetrators do have their own little job and thats being annoying when used the right way

Well, the real point I'm getting at is, how do you make a new mobile annihilator when the penetrator is already there... They would be two units that look exactly the same, fire the same weapon, but for some reason have different stats. If you're suggesting a mobile annihilator then what's wrong with the current penetrator that it can't be fixed to fill the role a mobile annihilator does.Masse wrote:[joke]well moon looks like a "cheese" does it meant it is cheese then ?[/joke]SwiftSpear wrote:It uses the same weapon as the annihilator does... The true annihilator beam can't be used on mobile units because when the unit moves the beam instantly loses it's target. The best a mobile unit can use is the doomsday style rapid flashing beam strikes. A single point can't be held by turrets on mobile units.Optimus Prime wrote:isnt it so, that penetrator has doomsdayweapon and not Annihilatorweapon? I mean Penetrators fire a constant beam of bluelaser and not a short beam like an Annihilator does.

Yes, I do know that none of the weapons are named the same, dispite the fact that they use reasonably similar functionality...mongus wrote:Wrong again.SwiftSpear wrote:It uses the same weapon as the annihilator does...
annihilator use weapon1=ARM_TOTAL_ANNIHILATOR;
penetrators use weapon1=ARMMANNI_WEAPON;
you dont know what you talk about.
Both weapons fit into the "big constant stream blue lazer" catagory... which also includes the core doomsday machine, which I can guarentee you also has a different weapon name dispite the fact that it functions basicly exactly the same as the penetrator gun, basicly just with different damage #s.
If you don't have different weapon names you can't even have different weapon damage variables.
One way or another I guarentee that if you add another tank with a blue lazer and no secondary weapons most people will go "why are there now two penetrators?"

Screw it
Atomic dive bomber. A single hardened bomber that can be used to attack super-hard targets, with a very small but obscenely powerful explosion. Something for bringing down a Vulcan, a Commander, or a Krog. Of course, being a bomber, you still have to get it _to_ the target.
