Rank

Of course Swiftspear you are right. In theory I still believe its possible to make it work, but not without tons of work though.
#1. The ranking system we have needs improvement
#2. There should be simple but powerful ways of improving it
#3. Rewriting the client and whatnot thats being done for next version of spring is waste without also fixing rank system in some way
#4. Creative thought into rank process should become higher priority
Because: It may be the most important feature of the client besides being able to read a players name.
I realize this rank system as presented in this thread is not a feasible option at this time. The current one could be left intact, however I strongly believe the following should be done, if nothing else, by next release:
#6. Build into the client an HTML viewable stats page for each player which includes win/loss ratio and general stats information.
I don't see how it would hurt, anyways!
Just looking for ways to make it more interesting.

The hurt would be from stat whores or people who value stats so highly that they'll kick anyone with stats they don't like (or make sure that one team consists only of people who win regularly). The current stat system is sufficiently useless that very few people trust it much, it only spots new players that need tutoring but is broken by smurfing (which you cannot fix).

Trust the rumors.
If someone ragequits alot it wont take to long before everyone knows it already.
The same goes for ranking, if i play alot with the Cows and the xhc they get to see my "talents" which are curently slim but still...
I say, get a reputation and the folks will get to know you.
Well i can see the problems with large teamgames with alot of unknown faces, but i dont encounter those probs alot since i mostly play 1vs1 with diffrent clans.
so... if you chose to ignore my statement i wont feel bad about it
But i realy dont think that one should keep track of every minor error one might make, its annoying and people might develop.
Once a flamer doesnt mean always a flamer, the same goes for people who ragequits.
(btw, im not one of them, i just lose my connection at times and/or my comp might freeze
)
keeping track of it in lists etc. makes me wanna cry and i would say that alot more would be smurfing if it came to that.
