Graphic cards can only handle triangles. Ergo, we are counting triangles no matter what. Also, neither Spring or TA care if a 3do model is all quads or mixed with triangles.

Speaking of 3do and s3o, is there anyone or any group of people still working to change things over, or even make new units, so we're not using the old TA stuff?

i stand corrected.

im making models for my mod, but id be happy to rebuild a tauip model or two if you want

There's loads of people making new s3o models and units but they are mostly working on their own mod concepts so the units wouldn't fit into TA-based stuff.

Some of us have loosely worked on TA model replacements/updates but nothing serious yet.
