The problem with those J-shmuppy concepts is that they are top-down only, some of them wouldn't be easy to read right without a side image IMO.

But just using them for reference would create a more unified style IMO

There's a pretty interesting concept in there - the aircraft carrier with a building platform. It would be pretty cool to see an unit in Spring on which you could build structures; there could be a mod concentrated around it.

Whoever Warlord Zsinj's friend is, he's very talented. The models are even to the OTA intro movie scale, and whatever they'd look like rendered, the concept art's as good as SupCom's.

I suppose that I'm correct in assuming that rendering even one of those models fully would involve a tremendous amount of effort? Can't even begin to imagine what would be involved for that 14 cannon Battleship. ~~

I'm comparing models to SupCom's, btw, because when you actually squint carefully enough to see its models, they're excellently detailed, but I've noticed that through some bizarre graphics decision on SupCom's part, all of their colors are muted. Great detail on modes, but the muted colors, very noticeable on terrain, tend to make it look like ass. Surprising, but it explains why I didn't like a lot of the look of SupCom when I first saw it, especially when most of what you see in that game's the color muted map.

You mean a unit on which you can build units, or a unit which you can build fixed platforms on to?

Why not both?

I'd think having modular features on units and structures would kick ass. Like in C&C Tiberian Sun you could pimp your power stations with additional generators or choose which turrets you put on your guard towers. Only now you could have mobile applications to the concept, like building a shield generator on an aircraft carrier or hooking up a flying fortress with a bertha cannon (not likely, but hey, a man can dream right?). I guess it would be a bit of a pain in the ass to code though.

PITA, but it would nicely replaced all those units which Caydr removed from AA sea for all these months.

It would also make building on all water maps more interesting.

Someone (think it was zyzwg) posted mobile factories waaay back when they made Spring's Monkeylord (well before SupCom's beta came out). Was a Kbot lab that grew butterfly wings and flew through the air building Peewees.

Also, things like picking tops for towers is possible now due to morphing.

Also, new weapons can be unlocked in a sequence or randomly as proven by WarEvo.

Picking tops of towers was possible in OTA. You'd build a tower base which was a factory, then it would build a tower unit on its top, that could not move

The mobile factory is still complex and difficult to implement, but Tired is correct, it can be done.
