Lobby mod tags and icons standard
Moderator: Moderators
I'm not discussing wether jpeg is a good format. All the lobbies support it so it will be supported anyway, and wether jpeg is used will be your decision as a modder not mine or someone elses as a developer.
Since nobody has any objections, Ill use the original proposal with the addition of an image tag for svg or resized images

Thing is, we need to know what the icon is for. Identifying which mod a game is running? Spotting stuff faster on the mod list? Just having a pretty icon in a corner of the game screen?
We already have 16x16 icons for the factions in the battle screen so why not similar icons for the mod? Or tiny banners in the game list?

I think the idea would be that the lobby designer could use it for whatever they wanted. They could use it for anything, really.KDR_11k wrote:Thing is, we need to know what the icon is for. Ideally if your mod icon needs specializing to fit into those 3 roles then you have a bad design and should think about a better logo.
The image would be a picture representing the mod. Thats it. It shouldnt be specific to a part of the user interface, thats the role of themes and skins, and this is a mod standard not an aflobby specific standard or a spring lobby specific standard or tasclient specific standard. How the images are used and where they are palced is the responsibility of the developer not the modder.
