Yeah... but if you had to weed through 7 pages of instuction on using a piece of software you don't have to find the paragraph of instruction you are acctually looking for you might whine about needing a n00b instruction set.

You are free to write your own.

My entire tutorial is a noob instruction set. TO make things better, IT WILL PRODUCE GOOD LOOKING TERRAIN!

Graaah! Are you trying to be annoying? It doesn't take a brilliant personallity to realize that unless you are VERY good in photoshop, you will not produce very great looking terrain.

Photoshop does not have dynamic bumpmapping nor a light source.

It is possible. Just not probable for your average person, THEREFORE, I lay down an a silver platter how to make Great looking terrain YOUR FIRST TIME! How can I make this any more clear?

The worst part about this is that you aren't even an ASPIRING mapper and you have the nerve to tell everyone that their tutorials are crap.

YOu can write one yourself, NO ONE is stopping you!.

BTW the capitalized words are for emphasis, not tone of voice.

Well Aaron has said that in the new versions of L3DT the trial key will actually expire, so presumably we wont be able to update it anymore. The standard version is extremely handicapped, only supporting 4x4 maps, low-res lights, no bumpmapping etc(pretty much crap compared to pro)..

To me this means I have to move on to something else, as there's no way I'm buying it unless I get lifetime upgrades. I do understand why he chose it this way, I'm just saying I can't afford it that way on a students income.

you can't afford 25 bucks every 18 months? That is 1.38 dollars a month. That's bad? Since when?

It's not as much a question of wether you can physically afford it, as if you are willing to spend that much money to create maps for spring.

Well in the latest version of l3dt pro I believe the expiry date for the codes was extended, mine still works,, give it a go.

This problem with not understanding FA's tut had to happen. I also had some problems with FA's tut but i finally figured them out without complaining about them on the forum.
This Set Rady To Compile is definitely a good idea. Also there could be something like "lesson 1" containing only the absolutely requiered things to to make a working map, "lesson 2" containing additions to "lesson 1", "lesson 3" containing more additions to "lesson 1", etc...

No they don't. You need to know enough about the system you're working with for failures to be useful. If you fail and you have no idea why you failed and you have no successes to compare against then you are compleatly stuck.

SB make a NOOB-Compiler that tells you why and where you are completely wrong -> with explaining Pictures- and Elevatormusic to calm the Noobs down - and keep them from Posting such Stuff -> making Forboding biting in his Keyboard :wink:

Post Scriptum: Maybee it would be good if some people who got help from FA Tutorials post this as reply- just Good work and (if the Case) where you missunderstood something. Just the Problem of Tutorials - theNot-Reader and Users complain - those who used them with Sucess, are busy posting there Maps.

I therefore Thank to all the Tutorial Makers and Community Supporters. Without you this would be a very exclusive Forum, and i would have never reached a realease.
