Which is agravating as the Spring engine itself runs just dandy on my system. Looks good too.
The lobby program needs some serious time under a debugger and some code monkeys to have a go at it.
Also, I officially disaproove of the '.NET framework'. Its big, probably slow and bloated.
At least Spring is GPL'ed, so I'll have to look into fixing these things myself at some point.
Also:
Oh yeah, Windows 98 SE patched to death,
Firewall(s)
GeForce 3 64MB...Duron yadda yadda... the GAME runs OK, the lobby program does not.

Lockup right before Game join in lobby program.

I poked around and the lockup thing isn't a real lockup, the game is just freezing while it joins. This happens no matter what. It looks like the problem is multiple people joining at once, or joining when somebody's quitting, or something. If I wait long enough, I always eventually get in the game, but if it's the case where I had to wait more than a second, I'll usually have somebody else's name, which leads me to believe that the problem is caused by a conflict with someone else somehow.
