Incorrect Global AI dll version?

Post by kbutt »

Whenever I try to play a game with aai bots, it crashes to desktop with incorrect global ai dll version. I tryed updating aai.dll and spring, but the same error occurs. Can someone help?

I'm using aai.dll version 0.63 and the mod Absolute Annihilation v1.46, as an alternative I tryed using NTai but they seem really pathetic in the difficulty department (no offense meant)

Is it the mod version, because I can see in the aai cfg files aa144 but no aa146

1) you need to download the latest versions of the AI's, now that spring has been updated. Only NTai has been re-released so far.

2) download AA 2.00, its hugely better ;)

Ok i got AA20, yea its tons better, but i still get the error with aai even after updating. With NTai, it works, so does it mean i need to wait for the next release of aai?

On a related note, where can I get things like the metal maker group AI etc, since my old versions crashed spring for the same reason as the OP...

ok, NTAI XE8.1 is infinitely better than the XE7.5 crap in the installer... get the latest version of NTAI... also, NTAI is made for XTA, not AA... so yeah, it will probably suck at AA

you cannot use the old GroupAI .dlls... ther have probably been 5 threads for this since release of .72b1

Old 0.71b1 groupAI's need deleting.

XE7.5 is very very old, so is XE8, get XE9

yeah, just noticed XE9a just got out...

umm... didn't you say that you would me having someone else develop NTAI after XE8.1? (Not that i'm complaining, I want the AI to get better... although I haven't played XE9 yet, with cheat on it will probably kill me ;))

Nobody seems to have taken any notice about that.

As a result my uber top secret project + Epic AI is being delayed by NTai development.

PS :: NTai does work with AA, it works better than XE8 did, and it would work a heck of a lot better with custom AA buildtrees

KAI is a really ownage AI, but it's nowhere near as stable as NTAI, KAI typically crashes within 30 minutes.

EDIT: The newest version of KAI doesn't crash.

If its wanted enough I'll package ExKAI.dll with RC18 so you can play KAI with exception handling

The improved metal maker AI is there, it's MetalAI.dll, it's the other improved metal maker AI dll that needs deleting(V2/1) V3 wont give errors.

hm, I have kept mmhandler.dll but not the others. I don't find the one you talk about in the wiki by the way, can you tell me where it is?

Actually, I've been playing against the newest KAI, and it's pretty kickass. You might give it a try, it hasn't crashed on me yet. (Most unlike NTAI)

Try out RC19

and, if sprign mentions an AI dll, delete the dll, as it is obsolete and serves only to cause error messages.....
