Neither of you are adding anything constructive to this thread with your bickering. If you want to yell at each other, why not do so in a Spring battle? That way you can really get the nerd rage out with plasma cannons. Try to be civil on public forums. You're allowed to have differing opinions, you're allowed to state these opinions, but no one cares to hear you slam each other about personal worth. I know you're both capable of being more mature than that.

min3 i commiserate you. You are one of these people who love something but only as long as it is EXACTLY (i mean exactly) what they want it to be and if not, they spam, flame and slag it down as if they have no real life and too much time.
I play and played FF more than you and i like it more than all other mods i tried and i like it even more now than in the past. It wasnt played very often in the past and isnt played very often now, but as long as i can find enough for a good game, its ok to me.
I also like big games with more than 4 people and you dont, so you call all games with more than 4 persons noobgames and slag them down. Now i really see parallels to your behavior in this thread. I really dont need people who see only black or white.
And now i hear that you behave like this in other mod threads too.
I hear often from people that they love the mod but that they dont find enough people for a good game, but if all who like it would wait for others, i bet there would enough for 2 full games all the time. Mostly they are forced to play AA like me and so they dont meet each other.
Just play your favorite mod, stay there and support it, but dont try to slag others work down as long as there are some ppl who like it.
One example that i m not alone:

this was a pm from someone i wont name and i had some PMs in the lobby too, which sounded like this.Just thought I'd let ya know that I myself enjoy your mod. It seems like there are a few idiots there who couldn't code a sentence that are bent on whining. If it weren't for the fact that I can't play online due to my router, I would be playing this mod all the time. If only there was a decent AI out there. Anyway, just thought I'd drop a line.
Opty, no offense but the dude in your quote DOESNT PLAY THE MOD! You sound about as credible as a naked guy in your wardrobe saying "its not what youre thinking!". You cant argue how people love to PLAY the mod by posting a pm of a guy WHO CANT PLAY IT at all!
Anyways, i think mat is being overly agressive etc, but hes fundamentally right and he does what he does for the good of the mods he flames. FF is pretty much boring and slow atm, youre always m-stalling... Your arrogance will doom you opty.

when i play AA, the games mostly are much slower in the mid or late game. Sending a bulldog on a 20x20 map needs half an hour and if your enemy has a good air defense you even cant attack with fighters. All you can do than is bertha, nuke, or have a game much slower than ff ever will be.krogothe wrote:Opty, no offense but the dude in your quote DOESNT PLAY THE MOD! BTW do you know what min3s suggestion was/is? He wants to remove lvl3 mohos and fusions. The effect will be that you have to spend your metal in much less effective economy buildings like orbital fusions or lvl 2 mexes and metlamakers.
If you would think a bit more tan 10 seconds about it, you came to the conclusion, that this will slow the time between mid and late game. Its the same as if you want to delete the mohos in aa. In the first time, you speed up the game because everyone cant spend the money in mohos which are expensive, but this results in porking untill you get enough metal means that everyone runs for fusions and metalmakers.
If you want to ignore this, try it ig like i told min3.
btw i just came from an awesome 90min game which was more fun for me than all 10 aa games i had in the past.
If you dont like slow games, you better dont buy supcom - i bet that its even *slower* than ff is at speed 0.5 (I dont mean the movement but the gametime).
Edit: And tell me please one simple reson why WE who like it this way, shall play without the units we like if ONE or two persons dont like it even if there is an option to delete these units by host. Its like you dont like berthas in xta and force the devs to delete them by argueing that they are just porcy and unstrategicaly and you are too lazy to use the game option which could do exactly the same you want. That is what i call arrogant.

absolutely no. You still can build orbital fusions and orbital metalmakers without the usage of asteroids. And asteroids will become MUCH LESS important than you think. A medium asteroid gives you without t3 mines about 30 metal. That is nothing when a normal ship costs 16k metal. WIth t3 mines an asteroid produces about 100 metal and is therefore much more important.Min3mat wrote:because T3 is slow as fuck. removing T3 economy means more use of T1 and T2 UNITS which means not FASTER but more DYNAMIC gameplay. As every asteriod is more important! you can't just sit back on your fusions and T3 mexes wiht a crapload of defenses

do you see any mod that is played well except aa? No! Now you can think why...krogothe wrote:If your mod is so good and perfect and 10x more fun than AA why does nobody play it? You can hide behind AA all you want but one day youll have to mature and realise that youre not a helpless victim of AA's success. How do you think it overtook XTA?
Try to make a mod yourself and you will see why. But like i said, i dont need to have 10 ff games open when i have enough people for one game.

yes but everyone who knows OTA (and thats more than 70% i believe) knows AA. So they waited for the release and when it came out, they played it. Even me waited for it and it is in fact a good mod, but i like ff more.krogothe wrote:XTA was the most played mod before AA, and i dont recall jesus coming down upon spring and saying AA was they new way of the lord. And im busy enough with my AI to make a mod.
Its the same with CS for HL2.
But never the less.. we will see what will be with FF in some months.
