missing command icons

I have just installed TAspring. Downloaded some mods & maps, started a private game, all seems to be working except that with whatever mod I chose there seem to be missing command icons on the left hand side (might it be called the command panel). The only things which show up on the panel are the buildable objects. Holding the cursor over the blank squares does cause details to be shown at the bottom of the screen but surely there should be some kind of buttons there.

Radeon 9200? A hick from NZ has the same problem, and he's got a 9200... The problem is that none of the developers have ATI cards by some coincidence, so they can't very easily test on an ATI rig.

yes that's right. So there's nothing I can do (short of downloading the source and tring to fix it myself)?

Hmmm. I guess it's fairly low priority for the developers to sort out, can't really complain since I'm doing nothing myself, but if anyone has any news about whether and when it might be fixed or what I might do to help (short of picking up the code myself which I am not keen on at the moment) please let me know.

ATI (might be fixed these days) has very bad binary Linux drivers, so that can explain why the Linux developers exclusively have Nvidia cards.

for the whole time i have been playing I haven't seen the command buttons(ati 9200 case :/ ) but afterwhile got used to it. when some button is lost just put the cursor over the button and you can see what it does at the down left corner...
