Minm3mat, its not that we should get an existing dev to help out because there simply arent enough fo thema dn they're stretched as it is.

We need new Devs for the GUI, and not just one, several. A single dev taking on the new GUI would be doomed to fail miserably.

Whatsmore doing ti all at ocne is a abd diea.

I think CEGUI should eb tinerated alongside the current GUI, and then have different components of the GUI ported to CEGUi one at a time as it becomes more integrated, allowing for a gradual process, rather than an attempt on an all at once which fails, and from whcih no new code can be gained for people to pick up and cotninue.

I don't want to make pictures, or tell them where to go on the screen, but perhaps I can build the API that would run a dll that works in tandem with a CEGUI script.

Now that hes retired, shouldn't he be moved from the Team Members page?

I say his contributions to the project deserve to have him there for all eternity. With a 'retired' flag, of course.

Sad to see you go... Spring devs are a finite resource, maybe I should consider spending a few years learning how Spring works to help out.

While were on the topic of retired devs, I want to ask about jEEz and Yeha, I have NEVER once seen them on the forums or anyplace else, why are they part of the team?

The team page hasn't been updated in like a year people.
Jelmer talked about having it fixed but Fnordia is busy with RL. (I presume)

Sad to see you go jouninkomiko. Good luck with whatever it is you are doing that is keeping you from working on Spring!

Is all the new CEGUI related code that was being worked on in a branch in the Spring SVN? What's its current state? I'd be interested in taking a little looksie and see what's involved, especially as I'm also interested in implementing dual-screen support as well...

He is gone. there is nothing more to say about it (since neither him nor the other devs said much). Could a mod lock this thread.

Wait, there was a lobby before the current one, and it was in C#? Damn. That could've dodged a lot of cross-platform woes since Mono is a helluvalot better than trying to port MSVC Gui code.

For questions about how the gui was progressing: nada. Jouninkomiko was just keeping his branch up to date with the trunk without actually doing anything with it. In fact, his branch got deleted not to long ago.

The C# lobby was quite horrible in the beginning. It actually got replaced by the current one when it got slightly more playable (the version that was hosted at Phoenix Worx). With some more work it might had even become nice. Not as nice as this one though.

All in all the project isn't looking for any new members: http://taspring.clan-sy.com/recruit.php
Now that's the most horrible page of the entire spring website.

As I said before, when everyone was getting all hyped up about a new gui, it's not gonna happen.

He just came in here talking a bunch of shit and didn't do anything. And the wow nice about the C# gui was simply to keep people from jumping down my throat for calling the situation like it is/was.

I said from the beginning of his GUI post that it was a load of crap. I was hoping I would be wrong, but lets be realistic, he's done it twice before.

Then he has the nerve to post in here like it matters. Whatever dude.
