Dynamic water
I am having trouble getting dynam water to work (with the neat ripple effect). I don't know if i am using the wrong settings or if it is my hardware/drivers.
I have an ATI 9550 using latest Catalyst (6.5?) drivers.
Does it just not work on this platform?
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know maybe you have a shity setup... and no I get occasional crashes and cannot run dynamic water also.Drone_Fragger wrote:then how come only Nvidia cards work well? My ATi gives me blue screens of death when playing spring, Crashes, Bugs out, And won't do dynaic water. Its the same with lots of pewople on ATI and spring.
There is no anti-ati conspiracy. just that ati has limits and or differences that rads don't have. I am sorry you cannot grasp this.
I can confirm the Dynamic water not working on ATI thingy, but instead of crashing and doing weird stuff, it just switched it back to Refelctive water. That seems to be the only thing that wont work on ATI for me, except for the damn purple buildpic in the top left corner... Is that EVER going to get fixed?

Nail on the head. Only the most recent generation of ATI cards (1xxx series) has shader model 3 support, which is apparently required for dynamic water.Hunter0000 wrote:You need SM3 on your card anyways don't you?
Radeon 9550 doesn't have SM3. THe oldest one is X1300 if I understand correctly.
Don't feel too bad though. I've got a 7800 GS and I still can't do dynamic water for some reason.
But what the hell's the deal with the flashing top left buildpic/button??? I can verify that too, it's definitely there and it's definitely irritating. Happens on all ATI systems I've seen.
