the idea of better fighters in t3 is already included by the spylab like min3 said. The point why they arent buildable in the big yard is simply because it would look odd when you build in a giant factory a small fighter. The spylab counts as a t3 building and there are some nice good fighters (all are stealthed i think). In the big yard there are already better 2t units like the advanced frigates (Drone frigate and Predator).
But perhaps i missed the stealthed fighter version (not the elite fighters). I never saw them ig, perhaps i can make them more usefull.
Right now, the elite fighters are good against other fighters and the other stealthed version too, so perhaps i should make them usefull against big ships... dont know.
I also fixed the dontland bug already and by that the drifting problem too.

This is the ORIGINAL FF and it has the BEGGININGS of a third race, called the Aliens. They are bitchen rocken cool awesome and I think OP should see about bringing them into the freaking mod. Damn it!
Right now that thats out of my system, the Alien race is a sleek, rounded and down right alien looking race. They are as fast as hell, hit hard and die harder. They really need to be balanced, but they are as cool as deep space and as slick as Helium-II. And, just like Helium-II, it crawls out of the cup when you put it in it. But thats another story.

*wistful sigh* I remember Final Frontier for OTA, Savant had made a good mod there. Good times, good times...
And the beginnings of a third race? That sounds an awful lot like the Beyond the Final Frontier project that never got off its' feet. I had tried it years ago; the alien ships were horribly overpowered, and quite awkward.

hm are there any screenshots, i m too lazy to townload and test it in detail ^^.
What alien race is it? An organic one or something like the klingons with normal ships but called aliens?
Not that i will change to this race (or at least not at this time), but perhaps there are some good ideas. How many ships do they have and whats their difference to the others except that they are overpowered

Anyone get this mod to play nice in linux? i.e
sound for moving main ship = pure static nearly it cant be that annoying :/
also @ Start this is what i see ingame console

Your problem is the AI. You tried to play it against the NTAI but i think this AI doesnt work with FF (with the new spring version no ai works i think).
Try to use emptyai or play against some humans in the lobby.
To the sound problem, i have no idea how to fix it because i dont have linux.
@min3: no not a 4th race.. i still dont have the third in so that would need ages. I just asked for some good good points in that race so perhaps i could include them.
ATM i m working on some better explosions.. a ton of testing, but it looks better. Sadly i dont know how to make different colors (only the groundflashes i can colorize

Optimus, a self proclaimed OTA:FF fan did not actually know about FF:Bff which was the third race. I was telling zoombie about all that is wrong with ff and then remember that Optimus was adding a third race. However, instead of what was planned, he created the generic looking one that he is working on now.

there is a folder named sounds. Perhaps your soundcard cant handle these soundfiles. I m not a soundartist so i cant help you there - sorryhollowsoul wrote:@Optimus Prime

that sound problem is only for this mod for movin main ship its a absolute pain. everything else works any idea what the sound file name is called in the .sdz?
