Confirmation on sharing dialogue (H)

Post by Caydr »

It's much too easy to accidentally give units/resources to an enemy. IMO, if you attempt to send something to someone not in your ally group, a box should pop up. Something along the lines of "WFTBBBQ?!1112"

I agree, this would be useful... would have prevented from sharing units to the enemy team...

Somebody gave a constructor to Chapparal by accident last night... that sucked.

I think the only reason for someone to give a unit to the enemy is to disadvantage him. (though I don't see any way. Once you were able to give the enemgy energy taking buildings.) Why not restrict the sharing dialog to your allies.

Already fixed - all units get turned off when you give them to someone.

with the olde time repulsors you could give them that and then get a peewee to shoot the ground next to it :P

And then they self-d the repulsor, setting off a nuke in your own base? ~.~

I think the idea was that you built the repulser, a radar jammer, and a pewee on some unoccupied piece of land, then gave them the repulsor and proceeded to get a guaranteed 5-60 seconds of e-stall, depending on how observant the person was.

Really, giving units to non-allies should be reclassified a cheat command like .give. It could be useful in a casual game where you have cheats enabled, but for a serious game it's just more trouble than it's worth. Before the Comm was nerfed in AA, players could use give to "train" the comm.

An accept dialogue would be the best way I think.

actually, I like the idea of not being able to give units to a non-ally (an enemy) without .cheat enabled.
