Crashing when compiling geovent positions

Post by Myg »

My mapconv hangs, has an error and i am forced to close it when its trying to place geovents.

Things I have done to try and remedy

- I carved out clear areas for geovents, with no other features nearby.

What are all the possible causes of this?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

It are single green pixels in your feature map?

try to move them some pixels around, sometimes this helps

Sometimes geo's gave problems when placing them on too high terrain (+/- white in heightmap) (you could also try lowering the height differens betwee -x and -n)

use mothers mapconv. There are some mapconv's out there, but mothers mapconv (subtitle: the lastest you'll find) works best (also has the geovent.bmp in it)

otherwize try to compile it without geo's to test. Then add one and try again, then add the second, and so on, to check where it might give a problem.

Let me know.

Wrong Filesize
Wrong Colourtype
4Pixels instead of One to near each other

I just named some things i myself messed up (mainly at Invernus - who should have 3 Geos originally in the Uptown)

Found the problem, it wasnt the geos that were giving me the trouble, it was the trees and their proximity to the grass that seemed to do it.. Didnt think that would happen. Thanks for the help guys.
