Wii news/rumours
@Megagames.com:
So let us examine the rumors, at their basis lies a recent Nintendo comment hinting that hardcore gamers should pay special attention to the remaining Wii secrets as they will be the target audience for them. The story suggests that Nintendo will host a Space World Event in August 2006 in order to reveal the final secrets of the Wii. During the event the company will announce an additional 13 games for the console including a Miyamoto title, a spy title from Zoonami, apparently rated AO, MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots and

If this turns out true I'm going wii for my first nextgen console. MGS and FF are the biggest reason I lean towards sony, and if MGS is going to be on the nintendo then that's enough sway for me.
Plus I really really want to see more cool shooters using the wiimote. It has alot of promise as a gameplay dealio.

Exactly. I have a friend who's an MGS freak and collects everything that he possibly he can. And he's gonna be pissed if MGS4 isn't PS3 exclusive.SwiftSpear wrote:If this turns out true I'm going wii for my first nextgen console. I'm still not sure about the Wii. It sounds kind of gimmicky, or something. I see two possible outcomes:
1) Its so horribly bad its erased from Nintendo's records for all time, and expunged from human history with a completeness unrivaled by any and all electronic devices.
2)Its teh best thing ever, and you all berate me on how dumb I am.
Option two would be nice for all of you, but option one would mean less beatings for me.

Virutal boy was a flop mostly because:SinbadEV wrote:Virtual Boy Anyone?Zoombie wrote:1) Its so horribly bad its erased from Nintendo's records for all time, and expunged from human history with a completeness unrivaled by any and all electronic devices.

Not only was it rushed out the door, but the public was unwilling to spend so much money on what they saw as a stopgap videogame system, especially knowing the Nintendo 64 was coming shortly.
And it HURT to play it...Kixxe wrote:Virutal boy was a flop mostly because:SinbadEV wrote:Virtual Boy Anyone?Zoombie wrote:1) Its so horribly bad its erased from Nintendo's records for all time, and expunged from human history with a completeness unrivaled by any and all electronic devices.wikipedi! wrote: To fill in for the long delay in the development of the Nintendo 64, it was pushed to market before it was ready. you crapped your quote syntax

yeah, i musta skipped that one... right from the SNES to the N64
Have any of you actually played a Virtual Boy? The list of consoles worse than it is far longer than that of those better.
I'm going Wii next generation as well. I'm a big console gamer, with a rather large variety... so I'll probably get two of them given enough time.
I need a Sega Saturn. I have games and a controller, but no console!

This could never have been expected. It looks like the wii is so popular that it's shifting third party support towards itself before it's even released. Where an overpriced launch cost hurting shorterm sales probably wasn't a huge thorn in sony's side, this definately is. I wonder if they are paying off square right now... A Kingdom Hearts or Breath of Fire style game would own on the wii...
