Uber Micro Double Control

Post by adamwalker13 »

I have been trialing a new style of playing which involves exploiting the fact that two players of the same colour/team can share control of one commander. It goes as follows:

1) You must have two spring capable pc's on an active internet connection
2) Join the same game on both pc's with seperate accounts
3) Set team colour and ally team to the same
4) Start game and use both computers to control seperate aspects of your tactics (ie one for buliding, one for battle etc)

It is probably seen as hacking or cheating.... but Its a cool way to play if you can multitask well enough :-)

 wow, good luck with that. If you can manage it, more power to you.

lol adam, sorry to tell you, but its not new or cheating :P

It's called com sharing...

two or more players can have the ability to contol the same units etc, i'm guessing by the way you said "if you join 2 comps together" that you don't play Spring online (as you should be doing)!

well, I'll have you know I do play online, and have a fairly high rating and some good victories under my belt. I know com sharing isnt new, and as I stated this originally It kinda proves it. My point was using two pc's to share your com with yourself, basically allowing you to use two seperate pc's to control one player.

Like I said, its more for fun than anything. Not a tactic for serious games.

It's not commsharing... It's similar to having an ally drop and .taking his stuff, but you have seperate res. I don't see how it could be seen as cheating, as far as an outside player is concerned they are playing against 2 players, and you're halfing your micro time by doubling your tasks so you really aren't taking an unfair position against them. Plus you won't be able to select half the stuff your color with opposing PC's because it's 2 players that are the same color, not one team twice the size.

Hacking or cheating? Heh, if your playing against two decent players it is more like dying :P

Although I would like to see one player use multiple shared commanders (or one for that matter) to beat several alright players.

well the player gets
1: more concentrated buildpower etc (its going to happen)
2: can tech quicker
3: can have far better coordination, especially in attacks

however that person must be
1: a micro whore
2: extremely good at this game
3: have a will to carry on no matter what!

i think its a fair match, early game the player suffers, but later on especially in the midgame, reaps the benefits

Now, if there were a way to have a subclient and subserver so that each ally/team could appear as 1 entity to the game server, but you could still issue all controls and commands... hierarchy indeed!
