Now perhaps we can start over and actually be civil?

*snip*

That isn't helping, and neither is this really...

HOWEVER,

jj I downloaded it and it truly is crap, not to mention very bright.

IF this was a crater that was blasted out and then manmade steps leading to the outer rings, now that would be pretty nifty. But a spectrum?

You may call yourself an artist, but please tell me that this is not the extent of your artistic talents.

Don't quit your day job...

I'm afraid I missed something...what happened to the other posts? Oh and if this map had some cool terrain, or something, it would be a wee bit better.

Don't forget the suggestion to catagorize the map download section into concept, normal, and metal maps (as determined by thier metal distro, not thier texture).

I thought this was a good idea, and didn't want it to be lost with the rest of the old "discussion".

A Map is visual acceptable when you can play onit, without Eye Chancer - this can be managed..
What Bugs me is - if after a long Battle many wracks are - for example - the Blue coloured Stripe - and you have the Luck to have the Teamcolour Blue - it may be hard to overview the tacitcal Situation till your units fire.

But to say something against those who want to destroy it - the Colours are beautiful, we have already enough green and brown - and way to much grey- stuff. So we need a new Heightmap for this Baby, maybe Steps down into the Blue, like huge stairs...

I hope you don`t give it up, this is way to beautifull to get lost with the current Heightmap. Don`t mind "Das Barking" - he has nobody else to shout upon, then us... :|

Err, could we get a 3d shot? cuz if it's compeltly flat, i don't see the point in the spiral...

The colors are a spectrum in a radial pattern picasso... How is that beautiful? It's not as though there was even a little thought put into it.

Kixxe, the middle is low, all the different spirals are pathways down. It still looks horrible though.

omg aren't you the dude who made speedmetal Duo? :!:
I like your Risk map though.
Best thing about Spring is the built-in LDS mode.
Nice to have a map where you can play without F1.
As already said, try putting this together with a cool heightmap and it might turn good otherwise it is not really worth a download.

this map is an exquisite blossom.. a rare flower in a rather long series of boring green and brown maps which attempt to imitate real life..

The utter departure from anything recognizable makes it what it is.. a truely beautiful map..

You know, I'm starting to think that FU should be sorted by author. It seems that more and more we're getting a few major mappers who we know what to expect from. IceXuiz for his goregeous and bulky maps, Picasso for bizarre brightly-coloured maps that actually look like hand-painted landscape, and jj for "concept" maps that are always interesting and strange, but seem like they took longer to play then they did to make.

Well actually as much as I hate this particular map, if it was technically a working map, without any noticeable problems that could impede gameplay it would probably be accepted and hosted.
On the other hand I would reclaim (reject) a map that took the author three months to make if the heightmap sucked  even the speed metal maps would get reviewed and hosted but If the mapper started spamming virtual clones of the same map I personally would reclaim them, which was left to the descretion of the reviewer.
