First Complete beta test with drone finished!

Krogball will be here soon - after some tweaks and tests.

History

Originally started as a hobby by some amateurs in Empyyrean, Krogball evolved into a universe-wide sport!

Universe cup has started a few days ago and the citizens have gone WILD!

Be the coach of the national team of your choice, Both factions have agreed to stop the war for 1 thousand years and play soccer instead.

Features :

1. Coach-your-own-team!
2. Famous Soccer Players such as Strike, The lightning fast kicker and Laserhead, everyone's favorite soccer kbot - Cloned for your pleasure!
3. Wacky Inflatable Waving Arms Krog!
4. Team Upgrades, give your team some pleasure by building them their own high-tech gym!

On a more serious note :

This is my first mod evarrrrr - it originally started with me fiddling around with AA/Nemo's n00berhack.

Once I finish some tweaks/adding some more players I'll post a link to DL Krogball - the one on FU is currently b0rked =P.

How do you play football again? I mean Krog foot ball. Or 'soccer' for those of you who are confused. It should be called Headball, cause they hit things with their head. That is football, not soccer. Crap.

The reason I used soccer is because if I say football instead people will think "American Football!"

You know, where they like, FIGHT N GRAB TEH BALL N STUFF.

And you know what?

I JUST GOT AN IDEA!

Probably as a variant to kroball - players that are like the fido - on/off.

On = EMP - to use against players =P.
Off = Normal Weapon.

Then of course, sean's all out...... fragkrog =P.

On a serious note :

This is just one of those little "fun, crazy and silly" mods - plus It's like, my first time modding TA - TA has proved itself to be more of a bitch then RA1/RA2 when it comes to hand-editing.

ugh, can't get the guns working :/, I keep getting 0 range on the units.

Guess Ill have to revert to a working vers's weapons.tdf

Heh, I can make a Fragball mod with my rules if it doesn't intersect with yours. The initial idea was yours though, kudos for that.

Go ahead and do it, Will make life easier for me later on AND I can include it with krogball - I don't belive in copyright =P.

Oh and right now - I have a Problem - I took upon your idea of the krog having a weapon.

I gave it the Anni weapon and put
OnlyTargetCategory=GATE for the weapon

I also set the category of gates to GATE - But krog still fires at everything else :S.

I fixed the Zero range problem - I don't know the cause, I reverted to an older version and made my changes from there.

Perhaps it has to do with the way I .SDZ it?

I open 7-zip file manager, Add all the files - in the window I put.

Compress as : ZIP
Word Size : 64
Dictionairy Size : 32

But in the name - instead of krogball.zip i change the .zip to .sdz - Works.

anything wrong?

its a zip file named as a .sdz?

it should compress as 7z, then you rename it... zips dont work

(rename it like normal, sdz or .sd7)

on a side note... why do some people use sdz and some sd7?

Tried doing that from 7Zip - didn't work at all.

Looks Okay!

For Krogball I was thinking of a Krogoth Head mounted on top of a ball!

or

A ball with a krog's face on it!

Of course, someone would need to script a firing and aiming script for it - Because that'd be kickass, seeing it shoot LASERS FROM TEH EYE!

Zips Work... you rename them to sdz... I usually do that in 7zip myself... choose zip compression and then change the filename to sdz... works for me everytime...

Can somebody please tell me, since I am only vaguely familiar with the sport - what kinds of players are there in soccer? I basically want two OTA units per player type per side - one normal, one "powerplay", plus additional non-sporting types that are purely offensive.

It's a VERY EARLY BETA.

But as Lordo said - shoot krog - He goes flying.

You're supposed to score by knocking the krog next to one of the Shield Repulsors - The krog would shoot the repulsor resulting in an explosion that knocks the krog away and your opponent can get a point.

But Right now I'm having TROUBLE making krog only shoot the shield thingies.

Also, i have more in store planned for krogball >_>

Right now my version - the Fragball - is having similar problems. I haven't managed to make the Ball only attack Gates. I also have problems with the Ball leaving playfield. I've had plenty of fun watching the Ball blasting anything that appears within its range of 50 though. :P I especially liked it when an inaccurate shell (I'm using Hammers for testing currently, I haven't made specialized weapons yet) lands behind the ball, and it flies towards the group that's shooting it, and explodes violently with them. I tried to use the Kamikaze function, but that didn't work well either, although I once had a funny sequence - a Rocko shot the ball, it flew over a hill, then the Rocko walked up to the ball, bumped it.. and after a split-second the ball exploded. It's like "don't push me man". :)

Edit: Ok, I seem to have fixed that weird weapon problem. I don't know what exactly did it, but it seems to work, at least the ball doesn't blow up spontaneously when around other units. I've also made the gates pass-through, so the ball should have a chance to lock on even with its puny range. Now for the players and the referees...
