Collision Damage?

Post by Snipawolf »

Could it be made to where a tank going full speed, could smash another of lesser size and mass, thus destroying it? Or could spikes protruding from something be used to rip something up? Or if a tank is moving fast, keeps going and slams into a wall, be blown up, or damaged?

If so, then we could make different units, like "demolition" units, good at smashing through ranks, or slaughtering and smashing small things?

Just a newbs point of view on an idea...

units with higher mass push harder, collisions deal damage. That is why a unit getting tossed will explode as it smacks into something.

Are you sure this applies to regular old Crushstrength though, Smoth? I'm pretty sure it just forces units (enemy or allied) out of the unit's way, it doesn't actually damage them as he was suggesting.

Units with high CrushStrength do not damage units they collide with, just Features.

It'd be kewl if we could apply CrushStrength to impacts with hostile units... that'd make HTH combat sooo much easier to set up, among other things...

? impulse push deals damage when things collide. IIRC there was some mass tag that would set a unit's weight and that could be used for push damage. Unit colliding do damage one another.

planes damage each other if they move around the same place for too long.

In that image the planes plowed into white base and exploded.

I don't think that applies to ground units, unless they're flying around due to Impulse... but what the hey, I'll test that out.

Gundam Annihilation is so accurate, the units try to re-enact the anime!

So I guess this means it isn't implemented yet, that would be awesome, then Krogoth could *CRUNCH* some peewees or flees, lol

I don't know, in my several months of playing TA spring, the only damage is when my Missle Krogtaars ( Sorry CayDr, had to screw with weapons for fun, won't release anything though ) blow peewees LITERALLY all the way across map, then hit ground, or fly in straight lines and hit trees, starts fires and knocks trees down, hahaha

Edit: Thanks everyone for doing this, I think many people will be happy to see Krogoth crunch peewees and other lvl 1 units

Well, tbh we are not sure about ground unit colliding and dealing damage. I have not tried it before.
