Darn kids these days...

Btw IceXuick, I'm starting to smell feature creep here. Darn kids these days should still be expected to read the readme...
I agree - I mean, how many players even use all the GroupAI stuff? The spreadbuilding? The UI is getting filled with more and more features stuffed in very, very odd places. Half the time when a bug happens, the answer the players want is "make a switch to control it" like the discussion on short-ranged units (problem: short ranged units don't attack things outside of their pitiful range, which makes melee units impossibly stupid - suggested solution? Add another toggle to make them attack units in vision range instead of weapon range... which for short ranged units, makes the "off" state pretty stupid").

Half the gui designs I see keep getting more and more features... and all they'll do in the long run is mean that newbies get scared off or screwed harder because of the complexity of the game.

Remember that: the more complexity you add, the harder it is to be good at the game. Considering how incredibly challenging Spring is to pick up already, are you all sure that things like the "LAND AT" toggle is a really good idea?

Hell, I don't even use the GroupAI... which may have to do with why I suck so very, very badly.

Group ai's are very useful, and can only get better.

i didn't use groupai's until just recently. well, actually the only one i use is metalmaker. i haven't messed around with the rest but they're actually really good. metalmaker ai helps you by turning off a x amount of metalmakers when energy is too low so and turns it back on when energy is going back up. it helps you to not micro as much and concentrate on other things.

Hence the reason any NTai downlaod will have an array of new groupAI's that do new things, or in the case of the Improved metal maker AI V2, does the same but much better.

I don't think it is. We just wait untill we can implant it in Spring.

Well, Jouninkomiko's branch doesn't seem to show any kind of real activity except for patching up for new versions. Of course, that doesn't mean anything. He might have a fully functional new new new GUI on his development rig...

For everyone who thinks this topic is dead.

It Isn't !!!

Im just having temporary problems with my hoster, and so most of my concepts can't be seen here (cause they are hosted there).

And indeed, i, and more of you, is/are waiting for jounikomiko to get cegui into spring. If i'm correct it is going better with him now, so hopefully he can get productive with this.

Once this is in Spring, i can start to make a skin.
