An example cna be seen int eh AI forum.
One common attribute however is that every single one of them has the site they're advertising in their profiles, whatsmore they seme to have a common theme.
essentially they could all be blocked out using word filters, fitlers that I and others have been going on about for ages deamdnignt hem because swear words and other references to such things are caught by content filters, rendering the site unaccessible to entire networks at a time, usually school or company networks...

Right now we're moving all that stuff to a spambox so we can delete it and ban the offenders... not that it really helps because they're IP hopping spambots anyways. I though we had a spambot killer image system on registering for this forum already...
[edit] yup, we definately have one, it's either being cracked or dodged, either way the spambots are getting through anyways.

The image system in this forum is pathetic for stopping bots. An action in photoshop (blur -> 100% contrast) and Finereader along with a macro to use them both could be written in 10 mins, against properly written forum spambots it would be completely trivial.
Would be hard to upgrade the forums with a decent system though...
