Flaming or progressiveness

Post by IceXuick »

Damn, topic just got locked after typing this whole thing!!! Sorry for making this post, but i think this should be commenly known:

Well, i think this (thread of eaglebird) can now be closed, as far as the flaming debate goes anyway.

Eaglebird, as far as i know, the devs are working on everything else, except game content. The whole engine, 3d map format(s), interface, lobby, (hopefully one day)improving the pathfinding, etc. All the game-types you'll find are in fact mods. So it is right to say that most of the things you mentioned are mod-related.

i agree on the fact that min3mat probably had a bad day, and offcourse you don't know that. On most forums that are around long, there is something like seniority, whether you or i like or dislike that, unforntunately it is so. My tip is to just stand above that, and try to give this forum good input.

what is good input?

i think that most questions, idea's or mentioning your experiences are good. Some are simple, and based on a single or gew test-runs, others are based on extensive testing. Both can be good, because there still are some 'simple' things/bugs that could be alot better, but aren't all mentioned.

So imo, just post your findings, and try to get constructive as fast as possible. Flaming on a forum can be fun to some degree, but progressive and constructive posts should keep the overhand, because the flaming ones often only result in slower and more annoying progress.

make love, not war

or just annihilate :P

But doesn't mean we can't try to make OTA in Spring if we so desire.

the problem is with the engine. units act differently in Spring then they did in OTA. we can try to make a mod, its just that it won't perform they way OTA did and there are things that some people will be picky about. i'm not saying stfu and try something new. i think an OTA mod would be great but this is Spring. Spring isn't OTA no matter what we do to it. i love OTA but Apring just brigns so much more to the table and gets rid of some of the things that bugged me about it. i believe there are still OTA players that play Spring, Quanto is one of them, and complain occasionally but accept the fact that its Spring.
