AAI Problem

Post by oosh »

Hello.

I'm new to TA Spring, AAI, and open source gaming, so please excuse my ignorance. 8)

I've installed both the latest TA spring and the latest AAI addon today. To my knowledge, i've configured the AAI correctly, including changing the version number in the filenames in the cfg directory. However, after a couple of minutes of gameplay with a bot the game crashes and i'm presented with the following message:

One in which i'm sure you are all quite familiar with :) I've done quite an extensive search of this forum and can't seem to find any solutions to the problem, although I may be mistaken.

Thanks in advance.

probably the same reason:

assuming you try to play small divide:

there's a bug in 0.63 that crashes aai on small maps when max_mex_distance is greater than the map size

you could either lower the value in the mod cfg file or play bigger maps (which i highly recommend)

Ahh I see. It was actually the coast to coas remake I was playing, but it's just as small. I also tried it on a very large map in which the same thing occurred, though.

What would be the effects of changing the max_mex_distance variable you speak of?

I got that error when I was playing Absolute Annihilation (as you seem to be) when I changed all the AI files for it from 144 to 148. While you do need to change those files in the aai\cfg\mod folder in that way (leaving whatever letter follows those numbers) you shouldn't change the files in any of the rest of the folders. If you didn't change any of the rest of the files and are still getting that error then i'm at a loss.
