Unknown Country

Post by Leaderz0rz »

Apprently Spring thinks America is an Unknown Country for me..I don't notice this on anyone else but me and it didn't do it before. The only thing I can think of that might of made it happen was my ISP changed its backbone so my IP changed..but that wouldn't cause it to do that would it? Not that its a big deal, just wondering why it comes up that way.

I'm a proud member of the United states of the america according to TASClient, but I've never been to the USA =s, I'm a Brittish citizen!!!!! I want my union jack! Surely you cna modify the IP2Country file to take account of people on ISP's such as AOl which are based in america but offer services in europe, and at least show an EU flag fi you cant resolve it to a specific country?

I haven't updated ip2country database in a couple of weeks that is why you have no flag (your ISP has probably just been assigned a new range of IPs), I just updated it though.

AF: why haven't you reported this before? I can write to db providers about it I guess.

When i first saw the country flags and saw mine was a US flag and not the brittish flag i did cry out, I did so several times after that over the last year or so.

http://www.internetfrog.com does a geographic lookup for IPs, check what it's reporting as your location... that might explain it.

Ha, the interweb isn't so smart anymore.

No way it'll take over if it doesn't know where people are.
