...make it flash on a new message in the chat window that is open at the time. Every other chat client that I have does this. Makes it much easier to carry on a conversation while doing other things...
Thanks!

No, I'm talking about when the client is minimized, and I'm surfing the Net, or listening to music, or whatever. It should flash in the taskbar.
Do you have AIM or MSN Messenger? You know what it does when you have it minimized and someone sends you a message? The button on the taskbar flashes an orange-yellow color. TASClient should do this whenever a new message appears in the chat window which is currently on the top.
I think it's a simple call to a function in the Windows API, FlashWindow or something like that I think. It flashes the window until you make it active.

it would be flashing constantly from messages in #main... Lobby isn't an IM client where a new window is instantated for each new channel. I challenge you to find an IRC client that harrasses you on your taskbar. I sure don't know of one.
You can easily set up client so it notifies you if you're PMed or highlighted.
