I'm sorry to say, maybe it's only me, but your sounds sound like extreme clipping and commodore64 like. I will look into this, if it's my problem. As far as the idea of making new sounds for TA: Spring, GREAT !! have been thinking about that also for some time!
However this isn't fully legal, but the (old) game M.A.X. (Mechanised Assault & Exploration) had some very great sounds, esspecially the explosions!
I don't want to copy-paste, if that's what you guys are thinking, but i could use some of the samples!
Maybe i'll give this one a shot also!
Good luck anyway, hopefully it's my sound system!

Strange, they seem clipped for me too in winamp, but not in audacity (except the two starting with x, which are clipped in both.)
Maybe the problem is you exported as 32 bit wav. After I exported as 16 bit wav from audacity, it sounded much better in winamp. I don't know how they would appear in spring.

As far as i know, TA used sounds from a company/guy called The Orchest, or something similar, which was selling a pack of large amounts of sounds for use by the buyer. So, even though the sounds are not original of TA, doesn't really changes much.AF wrote:Not all the OTA sounds are owned by Atari, just look at the lightning cannon sound for the zeus, i hear ti on adverts etc, it's all voer the place, Atari must be making a fortune from mobile phone and music companies.......
Comonly heard, too, is the sound of fire. But the crown goes to the «comander under atack» which is all over the place. Many sounds of TA Kingdoms are also used in other places like a dog like sound, which can be heard everywhere too. I guess that guy sold alot of those packs of sounds.
