KAI is working now on mutiplayer, people can join and play it, even if its only me with the SVN version! Thanks a lot zaphod!
Now to the issue:
-if the players dont have a DLL called KAI.dll they crash instantly. renaming an empty text file to KAI.dll works however, so the dependency and error message can and should be removed.


Other than that, it works just fine, and it was good fun watching the new attack system vs a human! You should see the KAI test server pop up more frequently now!

Theres retarded amounts of work to be done, but having it work vs humans is a start. then add economy, unit grouping, dgunning, different types of units, the new defense placement system, and universal mod compatibility and it will be on its way to kick everyones ass, flesh or machine!

Thats the least of your worries ;) its buggy, slow and very innefective as it is (still beats all but OTAI, plus some easier players.). Its more like research so i have a groundwork to try other things. I should have some nicer screenies over the next few weeks...

how about the numerous versions fo XE8 floating around? (there's a test copy for lindirs buidltree testing at FU with the dgunnign code and ranged atatcks among other little things along with soem new learning files you should get)

I had a look, its pretty good! it was beating AAI when i checked but we left the game after 40 mins, it was going to take another 40... Ill pit it against OTAI and transitionKAI

Just be aware it's a transitional XE8, and doesnt have lindirs new E8 buildtree, which lindir says is capable of beating 3 enemy XE8's using the old buildtree

I got that kai 2 dll from fileuniverse... I can barely start building my first plant (solar) in AA when it freezes and starts reserving ever greater amounts of memory, and I have to kill spring from task manager. :(
I have win2k.

It's annoying. NTAI 7.5 crashes pretty early too and AAI 0.60 crashes more often than not.

Never mind the features, but the crashes... come on guys! You can do it! :wink:

if thats the latest KAI posted, i did just to illustrate the condition KAI is in. Great potential but plaged by problems everywhere. Im rewriting it from scratch, so everythings clean and efficient like the UNIT class and the mex class.
