What settings would I use for making Terrain in Bryce ?Would it be the same as in TA ?I have read the wiki and nothing there (that I could find) about setting up Bryce or Terragen.
Well here is a short list of how to do this right. If you need more explaination i will start thread with detailed info.
- you can render with a SLIGHT ammount of shadows, but don't overDO it.
- render from topdown view (in bryce). Make sure your map perfectly fits the (rendered) screen
- unfortunately Bryce doesn't go with larger heightmap than 4096x4096. In a 8192x8192 (16x16 TA style) map this ain't a problem. (your final heigtmap will only be 1025 then.
- You can copy your height into and from bryce (do this for importing your own heightmap, or exporting a map made with the algorithms of Bryce)
- on larger maps (24x24 +) make sure you use anti-antialiasing (super fine preferred) This way it will 'smoothen' out your heigtmap (which is at 4096 max).
- Finally Render To Disk, and set the preferred size (this can be as big as you want it to be, you can always rescale in Photoshop(PS)
Good Luck!
