I won a FFA 4 player game last night (mars? ) but it was a hollow victory: (first big win)
one player, the other guy with the most stuff on the map, decided to leave, so he typed .give and I got all of his stuff... since he was my main foe, it was sorta game over.
I suppose I should have selected all of his stuff and ctrl-d'd,
anyway, I'd been playing for an hour at least, then the guy just... stopped playing AND messed up the game. there was 1 guy left, he was REALLY porcing. he didn't scout or anything at all. I really don't know how he got enough metal to build an annihilator, half a vulcan, and a couple of l3 bots. My buzzsaw eliminated his base though.
damn.
hollow victory

When a player from a game I'm host-speccing leaves, I usually .cheat .team (their team number) .cheat, and hold out as long as I can =)
I managed quite well the other day, got my commander up to ~50exp before he bit the big one. Swarms of flamethrower reapers fell before my mighty dgun. Then the gunships came
As for your situation...yeah, self destructing them would have been best, but it sounds like you had the game won anyways.

there was no take involved. I saw .give in the chat log, and suddenly i had a crapload of stuff. there were no teams so would h have done anything? that's the sharing screen, right?
there were no spectators either so I think we're getting a crossed line.
yes, next time I will destruct, it's only fair. it was a good game ('cause I actually won for once)

.give probably did nothing... the enemy in question probably h shared all is units with you before leaving (we'll assume he did it on accident)... that's not how the .give command works... and even if it had worked, in Multi- the .cheat command only effects the game on the client who ran it's computer... therefore causeing instant sync errors and basically ruining the game...
