Spring LOGO
Moderator: Moderators
Actually the colours may nto be put in exactly well, rememer it's the style I may want 2 contrasting colours red/green etc or 2 complimentry colours or 2 shades fo a colour btu I wouldnt specify the colour itself. And if spring does need a general colour then A poll needs to be done after a few other polls have been made

Ok, I was in some kind of creative mood yesterday, so I decided to create a crappy logo:

flower-power:http://users.pandora.be/clanfuta/ta/sweyankspring2.jpg
I think we can all agree they suck.

I sorta took your first version and simplified it as far as possible with the short amount of time I had so I could shwo what i meant by as simple as possible, all textures removed and brought down to a black and white, I could go further and put it in outline and smooth the edges off. That would be the base logo, people would seevariations of it, or in other words this logo with editations and additions made to it to make it fit the circumstances appropriatly
I think that this is the closest to a logo we have right now, and that others while looking good arent complete or have aspects which count as additions and variations to a core model of the logo.
For example we could keep this logo as it is, add flames, stick it on a screenshot, put in ranbow colours, or any colour we chose, blur it stick it underwater, warp it, smudge it, it would still be recognisable.
The above is simple, and it has meaning as shown by the flower, ti isnt fussy, it's easy to draw in seconds (just write spring with the i as a flower and a sharp logn stem with or without leaves) Mind you I will have to redo this to look at the new orientation of the flower head in the latest version which is about the only proportion in the image required
So what do we think? Shoud we adopt Neuralizes logo as the basis of the Spring logo? (not TA Spring mod logo)

I say, don't use 2 complimentary colors (like red and blue). They usually don't mix. Generally for those colour combos to work, they need to be greyed out or something similar.Alantai Firestar wrote:... Well, as it was a suggested variation, Lets see how it works...

Good thing I like the original LOGO, and well, Im quite taken with this version too. Dam it Neuralize thats a fantastic LOGO, and it doesn't just look like a TA copy either. Yet It will work for it.

Yeah, it's really easy to overlay all kinds of shit over the white in photoshop, thus being why all logos should start in black and white.
For my class project, I'm going to make it all steel textured and what not.
But, uh, thanks. (An odd comment among the animosity.)
cuz Y'know, making logos and graphics is only what I plan on doing for a living, so, I better not be horrible at it. :>

Im just curious were you trying to just shurg it of as simple or mearly comenting on yhe its usefull being white? Only your colourfull language (s*it) makes it hard to tell if your trying to say "you sux" or "grovey baby i like ur style" to me. Thats all.Yeah, it's really easy to overlay all kinds of shit over the white in photoshop, thus being why all logos should start in black and white.

I wouldn't say that to any hardcore graphic design teachers, they'd curbstomp you.You need to keep in mind that a logo defines more than just the logo but affects everything else aswell. Logos are marketting tools not framed pictures.
Nah, Agorm, we're cool. Got some blur going on, but the overlay is tight
Cool grovey, just the way you type obviosly! Yhe, the bluring is the stupid resize... Fiddled a little to much... How bigs your original is the main question? As you should make your stuff at a realy hi res (or vector obviosly) so if it becomes somthing thats used you dont have to re make it all twice the size... :) If i had a bigger one i could prob do a swell job.
Dam that sounded rong...
Catch ya later

I know, having flown through my Art gcse and being accused by my IT teachers of being too business orientated I see both sides, and though graphical representation is important you must realise the purpose and the psychological image presented by the logo and how it effects websites and banenrs and t-shirts and GUI is a major implication for marketting. It is the image of spring that you are dealing with not just a logo, thats what I meant, just dont loose sight of it.
