Few (two) ideas on how we could have some more gameplay flexibility:
1) Time limits.
I don't know how hard this would be, but maybe a time limit. If no side/player wins before this runs out, its a draw. A little counter ingame would also be useful
2) Game-end units
Not referring to "Com Ends" here. I'm talking about units that, when deadified, cause their entire team (as in: anyone allied to them) to lose.

like a single unit, shared by all allies, that needs to be protected by all... it would be really good because then when one player was "wiped out" they would still have that unit and therefore would not be switched to automaticly be spectators, then the surviving players could share some forces and the defeated ally could make a real come-back
